Systems integration and automation for Gold Coast businesses.

Most businesses run on a handful of good tools that don’t talk to each other: Xero or MYOB, a booking system, a CRM, an online store, and spreadsheets in between. I connect them, so a sale, a booking or an invoice is entered once and shows up everywhere it needs to. Where AI genuinely saves time I’ll use it, and where it doesn’t, I won’t.

Based on the Gold Coast. I visit businesses across South East Queensland.

Who this is for

Businesses with roughly 5 to 100 staff whose tools are fine on their own, but where people spend hours a week moving information between them.

  • Someone re-types orders, bookings or invoices from one system into another every week.
  • Month-end means exporting spreadsheets, fixing them by hand and importing them somewhere else.
  • Your online store, booking system or CRM and your accounts never quite agree.
  • You set up Zapier or something like it, and it has grown into a tangle nobody understands, or it breaks without anyone noticing.
  • Supplier invoices, forms and orders arrive as PDFs and emails, and someone keys them in by hand.
  • You need a small tool no product does quite right, such as a quoting tool, a customer portal or one report pulled from three systems.

What I do

Start with where the time goes, then connect and automate only what’s worth it.

  • Map how the work flows

Before building anything, I sit with the people doing the work and trace where information comes from, where it gets re-typed and where mistakes creep in.

  • Connect the tools you have

Accounting (Xero, MYOB), booking systems, CRMs, Shopify and the rest, through their official integrations or APIs, so each record is entered once.

  • Automate the repetitive steps

Invoices raised from finished jobs, bookings flowing into the accounts, reminders sent on time, reports built overnight instead of by hand.

  • AI where it saves time

Reading supplier invoices, forms or emails and pre-filling them for a person to check. Only where the time saved is real, and with a person approving anything that matters.

  • Small custom software

When no product fits, a small app, portal or connector built to do one job well. You own it.

  • Built to keep running

Failures that alert someone instead of going unnoticed, notes on how everything is connected, and a proper handover, so you aren’t dependent on me.

How it works

One connection at a time, each tested on your real records before anything is switched over.

  1. A first conversation

Email me what gets re-typed in your business and between which systems. We talk it through at your office or on a video call.

  2. Map the flow

I spend time with the people doing the work and write down where the double entry and the errors are, and what fixing each one would save.

  3. A plan and a quote

What I’d connect, in what order, and a quote for the first piece. We start with the change that saves the most time.

  4. Build and test

I build each connection and test it against your real data alongside the way you work now, then switch over when you’re happy.

  5. Hand over

You get plain notes on what’s connected and how. I can keep an eye on it afterwards, or your own team or another developer can.

Where I’ve done this

Connecting systems has been part of almost every project I’ve worked on, from small clients to platforms used across Australia and New Zealand.

DaTomSystem Architect & Consultant2014 – present

Consulting engagements

Through DaTom I’ve connected client systems to the accounting, payment and business tools they already used, and built automation, including AI steps, into their day-to-day work.

  • Connected systems through Xero, WorkflowMax, PayPal, Zoho, Google and Apple APIs.
  • Mapped client workflows into delivery designs and integrated AI into them.
HomheroSolutions Architect (from Senior Software Engineer)2018 – 2026

Property & channel management platform

Homhero’s holiday-rental platform lives on integrations: bookings flow in from the major travel sites, so a reservation is entered once and appears everywhere.

  • Channel integrations with Airbnb, Booking.com, Vrbo, Expedia, Google Hotels and Marriott.

Before that

His dedication to the craft and attention to detail is admirable and he is an important piece of the puzzle to any project he is involved in.

Questions I’m often asked

Can’t I just use Zapier?

Often, yes, and I’ll tell you so. Tools like Zapier and Make are good for simple, low-volume steps. When volumes grow, money is involved or a failure has to be caught, a proper integration is usually cheaper in the long run. I’ll recommend whichever fits.

Do you work with MYOB as well as Xero?

Yes. Which one you use changes the details, not the approach. The same goes for most booking systems, CRMs and online stores that offer an API or an integration.

Will this lock us in to you?

No. Everything runs on accounts in your business’s name, and I document how it works so another developer could take it over.

Do you build websites?

No. If your website or online store needs to talk to your other systems, such as Shopify orders flowing into Xero, that connection is the part I do.

Tired of entering the same thing twice?

Email me what gets re-typed in your business and between which systems. I’ll tell you what’s possible and roughly how big a job it is.
