I’m Dawid Tomkalski, and I’ve built software for 18 years. For businesses of 5 to 100 people on the Gold Coast and in South East Queensland, I do two things: help you make better technology decisions, and connect the systems you already use so your team stops doing the same work twice. For eight years I was the architect behind Homhero, a platform that holiday-rental managers across Australia and New Zealand run their business on. I also led the architecture of Homtrust, the trust accounting platform Australian agencies use to hold client money. Through my own company, DaTom, I’ve advised and built for clients since 2014.
That means I’ve sat on both sides: choosing and connecting systems inside a growing business, and building the software other businesses buy. I don’t resell software or take commissions, so what I recommend is what suits you.

What does it cost?
Jobs vary too much for a price list. After our first conversation I quote for the specific piece of work, and nothing starts until you’ve agreed to the quote.
What kind of businesses do you work with?
Any business with roughly 5 to 100 staff, in any industry. What they have in common is that technology matters to how they run, and nobody inside the business owns it.
Do you work outside South East Queensland?
Yes, over video. On-site visits are part of the service across the Gold Coast, Tweed Heads, Logan, Redland City and Brisbane; elsewhere in Australia and New Zealand, I work remotely.
Is this the same DaTom that works with software companies?
Yes. DaTom is my company. Most of my work is as an architect and fractional CTO for software companies, and this is the same experience applied to local businesses. Either way, you deal with me.
